DevOPs engineer

DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate possesses experience in the full software development lifecycle, has demonstrated success in the design, development and integration of solutions, and works well in a team environment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System administration of mostly Amazon Linux (Redhat-based) servers running on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
    • Update packages/software installed on servers regularly and when needed for security updates.
    • User administration for Linux accounts and also other accounts for miscellaneous applications.
    • Troubleshoot problems when they happen.
    • Investigate security alerts.
    • Review security scans and fix/mitigate any vulnerabilities that are found.
    •  Maintenance, changes, and updates to existing infrastructure on AWS using manual techniques and also ,Cloudformation scripts, Bash scripts, and Ansible scripts.
  • Administration (mostly initial setup and maintenance) of a few Windows and MacOS systems.
  • Work with developers to release applications to different environments (development, quality assurance, production).  This can include work with Bash scripts, Cloudformation scripts, DNS changes, creation of new instances from AMIs, etc.  Some work done late at night and over weekends.
  • Setup and maintenance of application servers used in software development that run on Amazon Linux and hosted on AWS.
  • On a yearly basis work with PCI auditor to bring systems/networks into compliance.  Throughout the year run security scans and other tasks to keep in compliance with PCI standards.

JAVA SOFTWARE ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with development team members and stakeholders to provide technical solutions that enable business capabilities
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Work to deliver innovative technology solutions that implement best-practices and standards
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve production issues. Communicate root cause and workaround options to team members and clients
  • Ability to analyze and document complex systems
  • Effectively communicate technical details and solutions to clients.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-8 yrs. of development experience using Java/JEE in a production environment
  • 5-8 yrs. designing and implementing Java based RESTful web services using Spring or Jersey
  • 5-8 yrs. Implementing and debugging multi-threaded, concurrent systems in Java
  • 5-8 yrs. Web development: Spring MVC, javascript, css, jQuery, etc.
  • Proficient in SQL and RDBMs: MySQl
  • 5-8 yrs. using development and build tools: eclipse, ant, SVN, etc.
  • Proficient in UNIX / LINUX
  • Experience using JEE application servers: tomcat, etc.
  • Experience with modern development methodologies (Agile, Kanban, XP, etc.)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and be comfortable working with senior leadership

MySQL Database Developer

PatientPay is seeking an experienced MySQL database developer to join our technology infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of database software development. As a key member of the technology team, you will aid the team in all database development related tasks. You will use your strong MySQL understanding to best allow for the development and maintenance of company databases. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with the application support team for product enhancements

  • Delivery of reports
  • ETL
  • Database modeling and design
  • Database tuning
  • Developing maintenance scripts for the application suite
  • Monitoring MySQL

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficiency in all aspects of MySQL
  • Strong expertise with 3NF database design, implementation, migration and utilization
  • Strong understanding of database design concepts (both OLTP and OLAP).
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with customers and analysts to translate business needs/requests into functional and/or technical requirements. 
  • Ability to analyze and optimize SQL queries. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal team, demonstrate excellent customer service skills, including the ability to work with customers on the phone and web meetings. 
  • Experience in developing test plans and specification to ensure bug fixes and code updates resolve the issue identified and do not introduce other errors.
  • Must possess ability to work independently and ensure on time, quality deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a BI/database developer or analyst role. 
  • 3+ years of experience of hands-on knowledge of MySQL (particularly stored procedures). 
  • 3+ years of Linux experience
  • 3+ years of Bash/Shell
